When it was the last time when you cleaned your pet’s bed? When was the last time you observed that your dog bathed properly?
Just like us, pets can too experience skin conditions and hygiene problems which may cause redness, itchiness, bad smell and other problems. And if initially not addressed appropriately, could result in severe consequences.
Keeping all the diseases, and to practice your pet’s good and simple hygiene we have some essential pet related housekeeping chores that you should be doing on a regular basis. Do them not only to keep your space looking and smelling great, but also to ensure the health of your loved ones - both furry and human.
The proper bath -
Many people over- bathe their dogs, and many forget to clean all of their parts. Veterinarians suggest that dogs should be bathed once every 3 months. All the active dogs and all the hairy dogs love to roll around, so for a typical dog bath in every few months is recommended.
Your dog’s paws carry whatever they step in, that includes pesticides, pollens, molds, dust mites, and other pollutants. Because they don’t get bathed every day, it’s a good idea to clean their paws at least once a month either with a paw soak or a rub down with a wet cloth.
Maintaining their teeth -
Starting your dog’s day with a healthy routine just like you do for yourself is very important to keep infection and inflammation from developing into severe disease. Always make a habit to brush your dog’s teeth with a toothbrush that fits his mouth comfortably.
Skin and fur -
Skin infections could be a great problem for your furry pets. Sometimes insect bites and small allergies or excessive scratching can lead to big wounds and irritations. If one knows how to keep your dog clean and maintain your dog’s skin and fur, can prevent all the diseases.
Never forget to get your dog trimmed and groomed on a regular basis. And bathe them once a month to avoid dry skin and itchy areas.
Keeping bed clean -
Many chances are that the most unhygienic place in your house is your dog’s bed. A dog’s bed is usually a haven for fleas. Ticks, germs and many allergens. Even after bathing your dog, if their bed is dirty, then your dog is too dirty.
While buying you can buy a bed which has removable fabric cover so that it can be taken off and thrown into the washing machine anytime we want to.
Cleaning your dog’s toys -
The cleaning of your dog’s toys is as essential as cleaning them. You should always clean the toys by soaking them in half water, half vinegar solution for 30 minutes. And don't forget to wash them at least once a month for playing safe.
